February Newsletter
Dear Members,
February is an interesting month: short and sweet, packed with celebrations. Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, Black History Month, President's Day and Chinese New Year - there is something for everyone. February is also National Bird Feeding Month. No wonder; it's not just freezing for us humans out there. First, we'll make sure our feathered friends have enough yummy seeds to survive. The Alliance will then take us to the NCMA Alphonse Mucha special exhibition with a virtual tour with docent Diane Beckman on Feb, 8. We will also travel to New Caledonia, on Feb. 18, 12pm, as part of our Tour de la Francophonie. Guest speaker Philippe Pottier will talk about Kanak's cultural awakening - a chance to learn more about that little known island - and capture some sunshine, even if only virtual. Then we'll reload the bird-feeders, because, well, the squirrels got their share too. Here is what else we'll do this month - click on the pictures for more.
