April Newsletter
Dear Member,
Despite the invasion of the notorious yellow pollen that blankets every nook and cranny of our world these days, there's something magical about the way spring breathes new life into our beloved state. Sure, our cars look like they've been dipped in Dijon, yet this should not deter us from the exciting lineup awaiting us at the Alliance this month!
We'll start with a guided tour of the American collections at NCMA, led by the ever inspired - and inspiring - Docent Diane Beckman (4/04.) The tour is in French.
Then, we'll dive headfirst into our very first cooking workshop in the swanky new kitchen with Chef Florence Melin (4/11). Florence will spill all the beans (and possibly some flour) on the quintessentially French "petits choux," whether your palate leans towards savory or sweet renditions. Warning: you might want to skip lunch that day because tasting our creations is an absolute must.
Bringing the month to a crescendo, we eagerly anticipate a long-awaited musical matinée featuring solo pianist Rowena Mariano at the North Carolina Museum of Art auditorium (4/28.) Rowena will whisk us away with performances of masterpieces by Schumann, Beethoven, Debussy, and Ravel. Refreshments will be served after the performance.
Grab your aprons, unleash your inner art critic, and tune up your inner musician because we're about to celebrate April in the most stylish way possible!
