Dear Members,
A few days ago, the Foundation Alliance Française celebrated its 140th anniversary in Paris. 500 delegates from all over the world attended the event - a reminder that what started as a small seed sown in the rich soil of cultural exchange over a century ago has since grown into a global network, nurturing connections between people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Our Alliance was represented by our Board President Edmund Tiryakian. You'll see Edmund's blog, a video of the event and President Macron's speech at the event HERE.
As members of Alliance Française, you are not just learners, but valuable contributors to a global network of like-minded individuals who believe in the power of education and cultural understanding. May our shared journey be marked by growth, friendship, and boundless inspiration!
With this in mind, we are introducing two new events this month:
1- In-Person Café - on the second Tuesday of the month.
We are keeping the virtual Café on the first Tuesday of the month and renaming it "Rencontres du Mardi" so as to avoid confusion. The In-Person Café will meet at the Alliance's new facility in downtown Raleigh.
2- Club de Ukulele - on the last Saturday of the month.
Calling on all uke enthusiasts, beginners and seasoned players alike! We'll learn the basic chords and sing along popular French and English songs.
