February Newsletter
Dear Members,
February is a time of the year that some say would be best spent in the southern hemisphere. The (relative) excitement of early winter is long gone, yet spring is nowhere in sight. But there are benefits to cozying up to February. For a start, there is World Nutella Day and National Drink Wine Day. And Valentine's, of course, if you are the romantic type. With a little bit of luck, we might even get that snow day that makes it all worth it in the end. A perfect time to pause and actively contemplate whatever the world drops at our chilly doorstep.
February is traditionally crepes month, a.k.a. "La chandeleur" in France. Since time immemorial, the round-shape delicacies have been said to symbolize sunshine - an invitation for warm days to return. You are invited to celebrate this event on Sunday 12 at 2pm, at Skema Business School on NCSU campus, together with students from Skema. We'll enjoy sweet and savory crepes with apple cider.
Another special event this month at the Alliance is an online presentation by docent Diane Beckman about The Rodin Collection at the North Carolina Museum of Arts - Friday 10, 12pm. A unique opportunity to tour the museum's amazing Rodin collection, experience the depth and breadth of his formidable genius, and understand why his works still matter today.
