September Newsletter
Dear Members,
There is a definite split in September between the "It's finally fall!" people and the "It's still summer!" people. And somehow, in North Carolina, everyone's wrong. The days are still long and hot, but the very palpable back-to-school jitters seem to impact your workload even you left school a couple of centuries ago - or so it seems. That's what makes September fun: we're back in the starting blocks, but still in flipflops.
At the Alliance, September is the month of the General Assembly. We'll hold the meeting online on Saturday 24 September, 11am to 12pm - and email the Zoom link the night before. As each year, the General Assembly is an opportunity to review what has been achieved, and update you on our plans for the next twelve months. If you're interested in joining the team as a new Board member, please feel free to contact us at frenchallianceraleigh@gmail.com
On the cultural front, we'll kick off the season with a fascinating Art History presentation with Pr. Saïd Bouftass: Intriguing Facts about Historical Artists - on Friday 9 September, 7pm, in French.
Hike in French is back! We'll resume our Sunday walks on September 11th in Durant Nature Preserve in North Raleigh. Hopefully, the cooler weather will be back too by then.
We are looking forward to "seeing" you in some of our virtual and in-person events this month.
Bon mois de septembre !
