December Newsletter
Dear Members,
As we dust off the Christmas lights and unearth the holiday recipes, the Alliance Team would like to take a moment to thank all of you who contributed to our Online Auction and Giving Tuesday appeal. Thanks to your generosity, we reached our goal and raised $4,600 in total! We would also like to thank our Members who joined the Beaujolais Nouveau celebration in support of the new French Cultural Center, which, we hope, will soon offer the Alliance ample space for its language school, lending library, and cultural center.
In addition to our regular calendar of events, we are looking forward to 2 special events this month:
On December 8th at 1pm, docent Diane Beckman will take us on a guided tour of the special exhibition "A Modern Vision: European Masterworks from the Phillips Collection." The exhibition features more than 50 paintings by iconic artists including Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, and Paul Cézanne. The tour is in French and space is limited to 10 participants.
On December 16 from 5 to 8pm, all AF Members and their friends are invited to our Holiday Party downtown Raleigh. Member Ann Robertson kindly opens to us her beautifully decorated Victorian home, located right in the historic Oakwood district.
We hope you find some magic in the spirit of this holiday season - and once again, thank you for making this community so special.
