November Newsletter
Dear Members,
November has a poetic soul: moist, moody, and draped in the mesmerinzing hues of fall. It is both a contemplative and busy month - being the kickstart of the holiday season, as well as the time to reflect on everything we are thankful for. Whether curled up by the crackling fire, or out celebrating what the season has to offer, we hope you'll find some French inspired events that match your mood and feed your soul.
This month, the Alliance will hold its first ever (silent) online auction. The auction opens on November 6th at 3pm, and closes on November 13th at midnight. Your support of this event will help us move into a new office space in the coming months. Get a sneak peek of the auction items HERE! New items will be added every day.
On November 11th, 12pm, we'll learn about the cultural expansion of Burgundy throughout history in Burgundy, Center of European Civilization, with historian Philippe Pottier, live from Burgundy (in French.)
November is also the month of the Beaujolais Nouveau celebration for the francophile community. Join us on Thursday 17th, 6pm at Skema Business School for an evening of food, wine, and live music. The event will be attended by new French Consul Anne-Laure Desjonquères, NC Secretary of Commerce Elaine Marshall, NC Secretary of Natural and Cultural Resources Reid Wilson and Mayor of Chapel Hill Pam Hemminger.
