We offer 3 types of French Classes


Core Classes


Core Classes are interactive courses structured according to internationally recognized language competency levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.
 
Each level is further divided into sequential sub-courses. For example, a student beginning at A1.1 in winter would typically progress to A1.2 in spring, followed by A1.3 in summer, and so forth.

Core Classes meet for 2h/week for a total of 20 hours per course.

Some classes meet once a week for 2 hours, some meet twice a week for 1 hour.

Tuition fees: $400 
Early Bird: $360

Specialty Classes


Conversation Classes

  • B1 and B2/C1: 90 minutes weekly, total 15 hours
  • A1/A2: 1 hour weekly, total 10 hours
    Classes are offered online and in person (Raleigh & Wilmington).

Lire & Parler (Read & Speak) – Online class using level-appropriate fiction to practice speaking French (15 hours).

French For Travelers - Online beginner (A1) class focused on practical travel communication. 10 hours.

Everyday French – Online A2 class focused on daily situations. 10 hours, textbook required.

Tuition fees: $285 for 15 hours (Levels B1, B2) 
Tuition fees: $180 for 10 hours (Levels A1, A2) 

Workshops


Workshops are thematic classes.  Most are held online, some are in-person.  In-person workshops are 4-hour long and called immersion classes.

Themes range from literature, art, history and music, to specific aspects of the French language and everyday life. 

Online workshops are enrolled in 2 to 8-week programs for a total of 4 to 8 hours.  
Immersion classes are 4-hour classes held on a weekend day.

A1 - Beginner

A1 Level Review

Online Workshop
This class will review the key grammar points covered in the A1 level. Designed for students who have completed level A1.4, A1.5 or  A2 levels.

Online Core Class
This online introductory class is intended for students with no prior experience in French. It is the first of five courses at the A1 beginner level. After completing this course, students will progress to A1.2.

Emotions Unlocked: French the Creative Way

Online Workshop
Emotions Unlocked: French the Creative Way
Join us for a creative - and relaxed - 4-hour workshop where we explore the wonderfully expressive world of emotions en français. Through a short silent film, you’ll work in small groups, share ideas, and unpack the rich vocabulary of feelings in French. Come ready to laugh, learn, collaborate, and let your inner French poet stretch its wings!

French For Real Life

In Person Immersion Class
Flex your French muscles and conquer everyday situations - from ordering croissants without panic, to asking for directions without accidentally proposing marriage. Interactive speaking exercises will help you sound less like a tourist and more like someone who actually knows what they ordered. Includes a hot lunch. Levels A1.3 and up.

Online Class, 10 hours

French For Travelers
Planning a trip to France or a French-speaking country? This practical, beginners class will equip you with essential phrases, cultural tips, and travel-specific vocabulary to help you navigate common situations with confidence; from ordering in a café to asking for directions or checking into a hotel.  No textbook required.

Online Class, 10 hours

Everyday French 
This class is designed for elementary learners at the A2 level - those who already know the basics of communication and want to build confidence in everyday, situational French. You’ll expand your vocabulary, sharpen your listening and speaking skills, and begin using more natural sentence structures with greater ease in daily conversations.

Perfect for those looking to move beyond simple phrases and engage more comfortably in real-world interactions.

Please note: Completing this class does not certify a language level.

Online Class, 10 hours

Everyday French 2

For students who have completed Everyday French 1 or placed at the A2 level.
This course builds confidence and fluency in everyday French through practical, real-life situations. Using En Contact, students expand vocabulary, refine grammar, and strengthen listening and speaking skills to communicate naturally and effectively in French.

Question Everything (in French)

Online Workshop
In this interactive 4-hour workshop, discover the many ways to ask questions in French; from simple intonation and est-ce que structures to formal inversion and colloquial forms. Through guided practice, role-plays, and listening activities, you’ll learn how to choose the right form for different contexts and gain confidence understanding and using questions in everyday conversation. Perfect for learners who want to sound more natural and spontaneous in French!

This intermediate French grammar class is designed for learners at levels B1 and B2 who want to strengthen their understanding and use of complex grammatical structures. The course focuses on refining key areas such as verb tenses, advanced sentence structure, and the mysterious world of French prepositions that never seem to go where you expect them.

Pace: Once a week, 1 hour over 10 weeks

Conversation 3

Online Conversation Class, 15 hours
This online conversation class is designed for students at level B1/B2 in French. No material required.
Pace: Once a week, 1 1/2 hour over 10 weeks

From Eiffel to High-Tech

Online Workshop
This workshop examines how modern architecture in France has challenged tradition and reshaped national identity. Through sites such as the Eiffel Tower, Centre Pompidou, Louvre Pyramid, and La Défense, participants explore debates around innovation, heritage, and controversial design. The workshop encourages participants to read architecture as a cultural text and reflect on continuity versus rupture in France’s modern history.
Levels B1 and up.

Across 4 hours, this workshop explores how architecture shaped French history and identity. From medieval castles and the châteaux of the Loire Valley to the palaces of absolutism such as Versailles and France's great cathedrals, we'll examine how power was expressed in stone.  No class on Feb 25.  Level B1 and up.
