July Newsletter

They say fireworks are for the Fourth - but we like to keep the spark going until the 14th!

July is bursting with celebrations on both sides of the Atlantic: Independence Day in the U.S. on July 4th, and Bastille Day in France on July 14th. At Alliance Française, we’re embracing this double dose of liberté with events that blend French flair and American cheer.

On Sunday 13, join us for an evening of French elegance and revolutionary flair as we celebrate Bastille Day in style - with a Dîner en Blanc! Think less storming the Bastille, more storming the brie in your best white outfit. The festivities take place indoors at the French Cultural Center - no guillotines, no bug spray, just good wine and great company (and yes, lots of white linen).

If you're in the Wilmington area this month, join our Apéro on July 3rd, or make a dinner reservation at far From France for Ciné-Dîner on July 17.  This month movie is "La grande vadrouille," a must-watch French classic, probably one of the most famous among the top Louis de Funès movies that captivated audiences with its witty humor, memorable characters, and poignant human connections at a difficult time in France.

All our clubs are resuming this month - except for Walk in French, which will be back in September - yes, we'll save the walking (and sweating) for cooler days!

Let’s raise a glass of rosé (or else) to friendship, culture, and community!
