Bonjour Mars
As spring starts flirting with winter (and winter keeps sending mixed signals), we all feel that irrational burst of optimism: This is the month we reorganize the closet, drink more water, and say yes to new adventures. It’s the perfect season for fresh experiences and global discoveries (the kind that doesn’t require three tiny travel-sized toiletries).
This month at the Alliance Française de Raleigh, we’re inviting you to explore art, movement, and international flavors - all with a French twist and zero jet lag. Your passport can stay home. Your curiosity, however, should absolutely come along.
March 1 — Guided Tour in French: Asian Arts
Kick off the month with a splash of culture at the Ackland Art Museum. Join docent Katherine Shen for a guided
tour of the museum’s Asian art collection. Expect beautiful objects, surprising stories, and the chance to practice your French while
admiring art that spans centuries. Très cultured.
March 6 — International
Women's Day
Join the French-American Chamber of Commerce, Carolina Women in Tech, Women in Bio, Dress for Success, Women in Cybersecurity, as we proudly
celebrate IWD 2026 with champagne! Because if history has taught us anything, it’s that empowerment pairs beautifully with
bubbles.
March 14 — Yoga
en Français
Relax your mind, stretch your body, and discover muscles you didn’t know existed - all en français with instructor
Zabeth. This workshop welcomes all levels, whether you’re fluent in French or just fluent in downward dog.
Note: Zabeth also teaches weekly yoga
online,
for those who prefer mindfulness in pj pants.
March 17 — Cook
with Florence: Tunisian Tajine
Take your taste buds on a trip to Tunisia with a cooking class dedicated to chicken tajine with Chef Florence.
Learn new techniques and explore bold flavors. No plane ticket required - just curiosity and an appetite.
March 22 — Fourchettes
Sans Frontières
Travel the world through food at our international "Forks Without Borders" potluck. Same spirit as the famous
doctors, but with fewer stethoscopes and far more snacks. Bring a regional dish (homemade or not - we don’t judge, we just eat),
discover new flavors, and share recipes and stories from across the globe. As someone said once, adventure is best served on a fork.
There are still spots for a night of French & Quebec chansons with singer Kevin Soucie on February 28 at 6:30pm - because February insists on one last dramatic high note before March waltzes in!
If you live in Wilmington, your monthly Apéro is officially coming out of hibernation on March 5 at 5:30pm - just like a very social bear, but with better snacks and French conversation.
