As spring tiptoes into North Carolina (pollen and all), we’re sending you slightly wine-tinted greetings from Bordeaux! Our fearless little
group is busy conjugating verbs at the local Alliance Française, accidentally lingering at cafés, and conducting very serious research
on local culture and vintages in the region.
In this April edition, we’re pouring you a cheerful blend of upcoming events:
Yoga
en Français returns
on April 11, 10-11:30 am
Get ready to stretch muscles you didn’t know existed, and possibly invent new French words to describe them. $25 for members, $35 for
non-members.
La
Dictée,
April 18, 5:30 pm
Come for the dictation, stay for the potluck. It’s delightfully humbling, surprisingly fun, and generously fueled by snacks. Accents
included, dignity optional. Free for all.
In Wilmington, Ciné-Dîner returns
on April 16 with La
Chèvre - a
chaotic adventure featuring one spectacularly unlucky heroine. Dinner (curated and delicious) is $40/person at Far From France.
Meanwhile in Raleigh, Ciné-Club features Amélie -
April 19, 5:00 pm
Fall back under the whimsical spell of this Oscar-nominated gem about a young waitress on a mission to quietly improve the lives of others.
Cook
with Florence,
April 25, 10 am–12 pm
Join Chef Florence for a brunch so French it practically demands a striped shirt: œufs Bénédicte, brioche perdue,
and clafoutis aux fruits. Bilingual, buttery, and borderline life-changing.
$70 members, $90 non-members.
There are still a few spots left in our Spring French courses - classes start on April 13.
Let’s make this April one to remember - with a little French flair, a lot of good company (and maybe a second glass of wine… purely for
cultural immersion, of course).
