August Newsletter
Here comes August: Lazy afternoons, lingering sunshine, and that subtle sense that fall is lurking just around the corner... but we’re not giving in just yet!
This month, we’re keeping things vibrant with the launch of Café Chansons - our new monthly singalong club en français. Everyone’s welcome to belt out French classics, hum along, or just sip coffee and pretend they know the songs. No pressure, no solos - just fun, and a few off-key moments.
We’re also bringing the art world into focus with two guided tours en français:
-
Recent
American Acquisitions at
the NCMA with docent Diane Beckman - come for the paintings, stay for the sophisticated French vocabulary you can
casually drop later.
- Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan at the Ackland Museum with docent Katherine Shen - proof that clay can be cool, conceptual, and occasionally mind-bending.
And if you live in Wilmington, or just happen to be vacationing nearby, don’t miss our Apéro and Ciné-Dîner events! They’re relaxed, friendly, and a great excuse to sneak in a little French with your rosé.
So come sing, see, sip, and say “bonjour” with us this month. It’s the perfect way to stretch out summer just a little
longer.
