TEF 

To study in France or French-speaking country; to certify your level of French for work.

Written Compr. - 60 min
Oral Compr. - 40 min
Vocabulary & Syntax - 30 min
Written Expression - 60 min
Oral Expression - 15 min - optional

Except for the oral section, the exam will be taken on a computer using a QWERTY keyboard. Special characters and accents will be displayed on the screen for you.

On the day of the exam, you only need to bring a photo ID (passport or driver’s license). You may also bring a water bottle into the testing room if you wish. During two sections of the exam, you may take a 5-minute break, during which snacks are permitted outside the testing room.
