Event has ended.
Dust off your apron (or at least your cutting board) and join us for Fourchettes Sans Frontière (Forks Without Borders), a
potluck-style food festival where we travel the world without jet lag, baggage fees, or lost passports. Participants bring a dish
inspired by a region anywhere on Earth, plus the recipe and a tiny backstory. Then we mingle (preferably in
French) and pretend we’re very cultured while going back for seconds.

Bienvenue à La Conversation du Mardi!
La Conversation is held on Zoom on the first Tuesday of each month, unless
otherwise specified. It is an opportunity to get to know each other and practice speaking French.

Prof. Hassan Melehy, Department of Romance Languages at UNC Chapel Hill, will host Véronique Fanchette, daughter of celebrated Mauritius writer Jean Fanchette. The two will speak about the latter’s father and do a bilingual poetry reading from Prof. Melehy’s recently published translation of Jean Fanchette’s collected poems, “Equinox Island.” A second iteration of this event will be held on Wednesday, April 8th from 5:30-7:30pm at Epilogue, located at 109 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
90-minute all-levels workshop
Stretch your body and your French! This welcoming 90-minute yoga workshop is taught entirely in French, so you get
the benefits of a yoga class and a language class at the same time. A basic understanding of French is preferred. No yoga experience
needed - true yoga beginners are very welcome.

Thomas Schlesser is the director of the Hartung-Bergman Foundation in Antibes, France. He teaches Art History at the
École Polytechnique in Paris and is the author of several works of nonfiction about art, artists, and the relationship between art and
