Durant Nature Preserve is tucked away in the middle of North Raleigh. There are five miles of trails to explore in the park's 237-acres. You can hike along a stream, through hardwood and pine forests, past wildflowers and ferns, through wetlands and alongside two lakes.
Lake Trail is a 2-mile pedestrian loop around the main lake. The trail takes the average hiker a little under 1 hour to complete, and can be combined with any other of the 5-mile trails throughout the park.
Open to everyone and all levels of French.
Dogs on leash are welcome !

Sandwiched between downtown Raleigh and the airport, Umstead Park features a stand of 300+ year-old hardwood trees and more than 32 miles of hiking.
Sal's Branch Trail is a popular trail with easy access from the Crabtree Creek entrance. The trail makes for a quick 2.8 mile loop with little elevation change throughout its route. Views of Big Lake are a highlight along the southwest section.
